Lachlan Macquarie Institute

About this college

The Lachlan Macquarie Institute’s roots began with the vision to see leaders who under the pressures and complexities of political life would be able to maintain the convictions and principles that led them to seek office.

Choosing Lachlan Macquarie Institute

LMI is non-partisan. We regularly have faculty and guests from across the Australian political spectrum.

LMI is not a lobbying organisation. Our goal is not to instruct our fellows how to vote on political issues but to give them the intellectual tools and practical skills to be effective and wise leaders regardless of their political convictions.

LMI is a Christian organisation but we are not denominationally affiliated. We actively seek to bring together students and faculty from across the mainstream Christian tradition. We teach from within a Christian worldview while preparing our fellows for leadership within the pluralist, liberal political tradition of Australia.

Please note that some courses may not be available for enrolment every year, please refer to the college’s website to see their offering for the current year.
